Hello, my friends! I am a photographer, photo retoucher, and photo manipulation artist with almost 25 years of experience. While I used to dream of a career in this field, I’m now simply a passionate hobbyist despite having earned a significant number of fans from around the world via social media. Sadly, page and post likes don’t pay the bills. My chronic anxiety disorder has made a professional career quite impossible for me, so I spend most of my time at home, focusing on the things that allow me to harness of the creative side of my brain, the frontal cortex. I’ve been doing portrait photography since I was a kid, just for fun, but fell into some semi-pro work some time later, after the last moment cancellation of a photographer Jared the Galleria of Jewelry had lined up to cover their Cheektowaga, NY location’s grand opening. They called me out of the blue and to be honest, I’m still wondering why. In return for purchasing me my first pro camera, I did the job. How many people can honestly say that a company worth $6 billion bought them a camera? Not many, I assume. Not long after, I felt ready to begin charging for my services. I got a few bites here and there; mainly creative amateur models from the alternative club scene, such as goths and punks of multiple sub-genres. Cybergoths and cyberpunks are my favorites. At least I made enough to pay for my own food and drinks on weekends. I had a few friends back then who I felt comfortable with, so it wasn’t difficult to find rides and escorts. Somewhere around this time, my work as a high-end photo retoucher was published for the first time in the form the cover photo for the 5th issue of Von Gutenberg Magazine. I was commissioned by it’s Editor in Chief and quite well, actually. I was so proud and I have to admit, my head swelled a little. For more info, go to www.ameliawysocki.com.
